Spec Kitty Appoints Jen Krieger as Chief Operating Officer

Spec Kitty today announced the appointment of Jen Krieger as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Krieger joins with 30 years of experience spanning engineering operations, back-office IT, and product development — most recently serving as VP of Engineering Operations and Chief of Staff to the CTO at GitHub, where she translated company strategy into operational execution across a 1,200-strong global engineering organization.

Spec Kitty's platform focuses on structured, spec-driven workflows that address the coordination challenges introduced by AI-assisted coding. With product, engineering, and go-to-market already in place, Krieger's appointment completes the founding leadership team — bringing dedicated development lifecycle and operational leadership to match the company's product and growth ambitions.

Krieger's appointment also brings a practitioner's perspective to the role — someone who has lived the coordination challenges Spec Kitty is built to solve, and will now apply that experience to scaling the company itself.

“

"Developers are moving at the speed of light right now, and the teams around them are drowning trying to keep pace. Product managers, marketers, support teams — they're all struggling to understand what's actually getting deployed and where their attention is critically needed. Spec Kitty solves that problem in a real way, and I wanted to be part of building it."

— Jen Krieger, COO, Spec Kitty

“

"Jen has done this at scale — at GitHub, at Red Hat — and she brings a rare combination of product intuition, engineering depth, and operational discipline. That breadth is exactly what we need as we grow."

— Robert Douglass, Co-Founder, Spec Kitty
